If your guests will be standing during the event then you may not require as much space for items such as tables and chairs and therefore may not need as much space. Usable Space

Another thing to think about when deciding what size marquee you might need is the usable space that is available. If you are planning to have a marquee in a backyard which is quite small or is an unusual shape then your useable space may be smaller than you might think. Overhanging trees, uneven ground or obstructions can all reduce the amount of useable space. On the other hand, if you have chosen a location such as a large field which is relatively flat, wide and open with little to no obstructions you will probably have much more usable space to play with and would, therefore, be able to choose a much larger marquee for your event. If you are unsure as to how much usable space your intended location has, or whether the location is suitable for a marquee, then it is recommended that you have a site inspection. Having a professional come and inspect your intended location is the only way you can know for sure that your marquee will not only fit inside the space but will be able to be installed safely.

Type Of Event

The type of event you are planning must also be considered when choosing the size of the marquee. Will the event require additional extras such as furniture? Perhaps you’re planning an event that will require a bar or other type of catering. Caterers will often require a certain amount of space to prepare or store ingredients, food and beverages. If you are planning an event and intend to hire caterers it is always best to contact the caterers prior to hiring your marquee to find out how much space they may require.
